Classic Lash Extensions or Volume Lashes: Which is the Best Choice?
Let us tell you first why Aussie women are so after eyelash extensions.
Well, thanks to eyelash extensions, women feel confident enough to go out, even without mascara or lash curlers! It offers a dramatic and fuller look to natural lashes every day. But, when it comes to trying out a new style, they often feel puzzled to choose between classic lashes and volume ones. Here’s where they turn to lash artists for the best lash look.
So, as a lash artist, you need to evaluate which lash extension can give your client the perfect flutter and when.
What Are Classic Lash Extensions?
Classic lash trays are a must-have for your lash job, continuing C and D curl lashes with 0.15mm or 0.20mm thickness and 8-15mm length. They are usually applied in a one-to-one ratio to create a simple everyday lash look. Yet, it is a great choice for clients who prefer a timeless and natural look to their original lashes without much volume. It just adds elegance and length to the natural lashes, while accentuating the eye shape.
However, you can create a bold lash look by pairing these classic lashes with the volume ones (hybrid lash extensions) if any client asks for a classic look with a dramatic touch to the natural lashes.
Note: For light lashes, it’s better to choose 0.15mm thickness, while 0.20mm thickness is best for strong natural lashes.
What Are Full Volume Lashes?
Volume lash extensions are best to satisfy the unique lash look of clients. You can create your own lash fans, as volume lashes come in a variety of lengths and styles. You just need to know the voluminous look your client desires and choose the curl, length and volume accordingly to give her natural lashes a fuller and more dramatic look.
Full-volume lashes are also popular as Russian volume lashes that come in lengths from 8mm to 15mm and thicknesses from 0.03 to 0.07. Usually, 0.05 thickness is the perfect choice to create a full-volume lash extension, but for a mega-volume set, it’s best to choose 0.03 thickness. However, when any client asks for fuller but natural-looking lashes, go for 0.07 thickness in the 5D lash style.
Here, you need to add multiple lash extensions made of tiny lash fans to one single natural lash. The finer the lash fan you use, the fluffier and more dramatic the look your client gets. For instance, two lash extensions to one natural eyelash mean 2D lashes and similarly goes for 3D, 4D, 5D and so on. Also, it allows adding extra curl to the lashes, which can make one look stand out at special events.
Note: You can also suggest volume lashes to those who experience bald spots or lack sparse lashes, besides getting a more dramatic lash look.
